Sometimes a little common sense will go a long way, if I had some third party reservation site spit out what you quoted, which it takes all of three seconds to realize is just wrong, I wouldn't count on the price quoted being right no matter what some CSR tells me.

If you want to fight this issue, you need to fight it through Orbitz. Avis has done nothing wrong here, they can't be responsible for some third party website providing an obviously inaccurate price quote.
