I know i read about a similar circumstance not too long ago, but the search function is not helping tonight.
The fact are as follows. I signed up my father to the Platinum challenge 1.5 month ago. Two weeks ago his account reflected GOLD status. I thought this was odd and gave a call to AA customer service for clarification. They stated that he had signed up for the GOLD challenge. At the time i could not investigate further, and i let the issue go till today. Today i called up and stated my case: (edit: today he has 10,500 EQP)
- At the time I signed my father up, he had 970,000 lifetime miles, a stones throw from lifetime GOLD, therefore the gold challenge would have be illogical
- At the time I signed my father up, he had 17,000 YTD EQM, therefore a gold challenge would have been illogical
-I also stated that my father would have about 20,000 EQP by the time the 3 months elapsed
- With the above points mentioned, i also stood my ground firmly that i had said PLATINUM not GOLD, but the supervisor would not budge.
-Lastly, i said neither my father nor i had received a confirmation email regarding the challenge, or else i would have called the day the email was received. Supervisor said we should have called when we did not see the email arrive, i stated that the only reason i even knew an email was sent was because my mother did the challenge next year, and everything went super smoothly.
The supervisors main point was that she personally knew the colleague who signed my father for the challenge and that she would not make such a mistake. This was extremely irritating . . . basically my word against hers and i dont have credibility, ridiculous considering that i am an EXP and my mother successfully completed a challenge last year, and re-qualified this year. Indeed i coaxed both my parents from UA.
I am expecting a phone call on tuesday from the colleague who spoke with me on the phone when i signed my dad up. I need all the advice i can get . . . please help, i appreciate all suggestions.
Thanks in advance,
Nick
