and
353 wolverine 5 guests $98.00 return on the 31st
Is there any sort of promo code I can use that would bring this down a bit price wise?
Most discount/promo codes are blacked out for those days. The holiday season is one that Amtrak can count on full trains, so they don't have to offer discounts (to get people on the trains).

The best you can do is one of the "regular" discounts (such as AAA or senior).
If I book this and later find in the hot deals section of amtrak.com a better rate will they work with me on that or ?
I want to book this asap to reserve the spots, but want to try and find the best pricing too.
You could book now, and if possible,
DO NOT PICK UP THE TICKETS (or at least as far as possible)! The reason is that once the tickets are
printed, there is a 10% penalty for exchanging them. (If the tickets were not prinnted, there is no penalty.) So if the tickets cost $100, but you later find a "cheaper" price of say $91, it would cost you more to exchange them.
You
may find it in the "hot deals", but there is no guarantee. Plus, if it is not, the price may be higher when you do book it - or it may be sold out!
Also questions about the 350 /353 wolverine, I only rode one amtrack and that was from Chicago to New Orleans, it was awesome, sight seeing car, snack car, BIG long comfy seats (im 6'6') and still had TONS of room etc.
Is this 350 wolverine route train as comfy seat/room wise and do they have the glass top sight seeing area? I did see it said snack car though.
I never rode 350/353, but I believe it is a regular Amfleet corridor (single level) train. The City of New Orleans is operated with Superliner (bi-level) equipment.
350/353 will have less room, NO sightseer Lounge, NO Dining Car (only a snack car) and NO Sleeping cars.
