I was offered an upgrade on United and Sydney Airport for the SYD-LAX flight for US$550. 14 hour flight.

The fare I had purchased was US$1100 round trip

So that was a pretty good offer.

Recently too in London I was offered 300 pounds to upgrade at London Airport for the 11 hour LHR-LAX flight (about US$600)
