Avis does NOT have a 3 day rate plan as far as I know. they have weekend plans that require friday night overstay or sat night overstay etc etc.

MY suggestion would be to book the car for one day, and keep the car for the extra day you need it.

You will only be charged the time you use.

But if you are booking a reservation and it shows sold out for 2 days...but is available for 3 days......that means they have rental restrictions on for capacity, they are trying to slow down rental demand.

My suggestion in this case would be to reserve the car for 3 days, then call and ask if there is a minimum rental period for that reservation. My suspicion is the rental period minimum is 24 hours.

If its 24 hours...then you will only be charged applicable additional hours/days as per contract...no extra fee.

We can drop off cars early for any reservation and pay only the daily rate on the contract for days used thus far. Right?

i.e. I have a bunch of one way rentals coming up. I need the car from Weds. 12pm to Thurs 10pm. So two days. I can't make this res online as the three day minimum kicks in.

So, I can book it on the phone and pay a ton for those two days. Or, I can book it through three or four days and knock my daily rate down, then return it two days early and pay less.

Is this a safe assumption to work with on all rentals?

Thanks, BZ
