you prefer not to use it, fine.
but to say you don't understand seems amazing to me.
so many nice features these days -
I have seen models with various features such as
-use of real-time traffic data as an input to your to your route selection
-up to date price of gas data - where can I find cheap gas near me
-point of interest - what restaurants are near me (also many other categories besides restaurants)
sure you can use google maps/whatever ahead of time. for all of the trips you know you will be making, ahead of time. what about for the trips you didn't plan ahead of time? sure you can call people. write down directions. try to follow those directions, at night, in the rain, whatever (in your own, or in a strange city).
I use my gps all the time. This week I had a "didn't ask for it/no charge" Neverlost in my Infinity from hertz. It was very interesting to compare the 2d map of neverlost to the 3d/perspective view from my tomtom. And the fact that I did not need to worry about keeping the neverlost system fully charged - I don't travel with my car kit and so need to keep the tomtom bluetooth gps receiver charged using AC at the hotel room.
And I can't even begin to tell you about using GPS in Hawaii, talk about driving in a foreign country. Who can make sense of all those road names??
