One of the options comming up is CPH-PVG (SK 997) + PVG-AKL (NZ 88). The return route is less attractive with a 6 hour lay over in PVG.

The question is: Can I do an International transit in PVG without going through Chinese immigration (and thereby avoid a Chinese Visa)?
What about lounge access?
If you have Danish passport (or passport of one of following nations), you don't need Chinese visa when you transit in Shanghai within 48 hours.

NOTES:
l G-visas are generally good for one or two entries.
l Australian, New Zealand, American, Canadian, South Korean, German, French, Dutch, Luxemburg, Belgian, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Austrian, Greek, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian and Swedish passports bearers do not need a Transit Visa (G Visa) if they transit via SHANGHAI and staying for less than 48 hours (going out of the airport is allowed).
BTW, you have to go through chinese immigration though.
I flew BKK-PVG-NRT with MU 2 years ago.
Even though it was same airline which was(is) PVG based, I needed to go through chinese immigration TWICE (in/out).
PVG has same idiotic structure as US airport. (Not in PEK)
