I think my new favorite may be Pizzeria Mozza, the Nancy Silverton (of LaBrea Bakery & Campanile fame) & Mario Batali venture that recently opened in LA (corner of Highland and Melrose): perfect airy, crispy crust, just a little tomato sauce and excellent toppings. The best I've tried is the prosciutto & arugula. Unfortunately, it's a small place and, with all the hype associated with the Silverton & Batali names, not easy to get a table. On the other hand, there's open seating at the bar -- where you can watch the pizzas being made and enjoy your quartino of nero d'avola (or your favorite Italian red wine to drink with pizza).
