To my mind the chicken places in Frankenmuth are tourist places, servings are hearty and family style, but the crowds and atmosphere give one a feeling of assembly line feeding. (A must visit place is Bronners, the year round Christmas ornament store.)

I like Sanford's Bar & Grill outside Midland on Highway 10 towards Clare, for great buffalo wings and other specialties.
