As for parking... there are many public parking lots across the street from the hotel. In fact I know of 3 off the top of my head. Two are directly across the hotel entrance. I am sure you can get a better deal if you self-park.
We drove up from BUF. When we ventured out with the car, it wound up costing us $21 to park for about 3 hours, so you have to be careful where you park.
BTW, we found a sports bar type place a block or so south of the Dome called
St. Louis. Nothing spectacular, but good food and warm. If there's a hockey game on, it can et a little boisterous.
