Unlikely. SFO-DEN-ORD-IAD is only 26 miles longer than SFO-IAD. Unless you have good reason to believe one of those flights is bump worthy (*maybe* prime time monday morning) this seems like a bad idea to me. Now flying OAK-LAX-SFO-IAD-XXX for example could add more. Of course, if all you needed was the SFO-IAD-SFO many miles, the only reason to do any more than that is you really like rdm.
