Overall I guess I got excited about flying what I expected to be the nicest ride in the sky (short of a private jet). I set my expectations so high that they could only go down. I probably could have asked for headphones, but I was busy defending SQ as one of my friends was even more annoyed with them than I was. My comment about the food was that the cold snacks sometimes offered on USA flights generally taste better than the cheesey bread like snack.
Incendently I encountered the best FA's on this trip. They were flying UA803 NRT-SIN. Mid flight one of the FA's replaced a napkin under my cup that fell off the tray table. I guess he was worried about water damaging the plastic tray tables
I'll start banking my miles and hope to score a long haul F or C class award ticket on an SQ flight in the future. It will probably be like searching for a needle in a haystack, but it may be worth it.
Two other comments:
Seat to Seat Phone Calls. This is probably the coolest features I've ever seen on a plane. I wonder how much it's used other than parents who fly F well their kids are in Y. They definitly score an A+ on the IFE offered. Too bad people have to enable incoming calls. It could be a fun way to meet people mid flight.
Individual Air Vents: One of my other friends commented that the plane did not have individual air vents. It's the first plane that I've been on where seats didn't have their own vents. It didn't bother me much as I usually close them shortly after takeoff. Just an interesting observation
I shared my comments with SQ as well.
