The plane(777) was only about 40% full so we were seated toward the back so that my two friends and I were able to spread out. Headphone's were not in the seats, but I didn't ask because I kept thinking that the crew would hand them out shortly. It never happened.

When the first cart went by I asked what soda's she had. She answered that she didn't have any even though the cart had both Coke and 7Up on it. Five minutes later I noticed that a cart in the far aisle was going by with both Coke and 7up on the top. I raised my voice and asked across the plane if I could get a Coke or 7up(our section of the plane was virtually empty). He nodded a "Yes" to me and a couple minutes later brought carbonated water. I stopped the third cart that came by and this time directly asked if I could have a coke. This FA complied and poured a coke into a glass for me.
No self dignified person - even from USA will ask for 'soda'. A dignified person would have asked for the drink of their choice by the proper name!
I was shocked that we got a hot edible cheese bread like substance for our one hour flight, but I've had better on most USA operated airlines.
On USA operated airlines, you would be LUCKY to even get a peanut on a one hour flight!
I was, however, blown away by the entertainment choice available on board. One of my friends and I played battleship and trivia during our one hour flight.

Should I have expected more for my 1 hour flight?
Should you have expected anything like this on a US carrier?
