Here are some simple things NW can do.

Free drinks would go a long way. If an Elite member is unable to sit in FC then simply slipping a couple drink vouchers in with the boarding pass would be a nice touch.

I know CO has these vouchers and they are good for drinks or headset rental (they don't give them in this manner, but it would be nice.)

Having resigned to the fact that seat size will remain constant, (despite UA's announcement) I would like to see you add priority seating in the first few rows of coach. This allows you to get on first, find a place for your bag and then be the first off the plane. Extremely helpful for those of us who don't check luggage.

Then begin food service at the front of the plane so the passengers are not left with the choice of "Beef or Beef?"

While these may not be major they would be helpful so the elite passenger does not have one more thing to complain about.
