If you're starting your MR in Australia, do it in another city to that where you live. For example in 2004 I started a DONE4 in SYD, so when I arrived in BNE I still had the 3 Australian segments left to use at my leisure eg BNE-DRW-PER-SYD or BNE-ADL-PER-SYD.
