Did you get a confirmation from Wolfgang that he will honour the rate at Perdana? My reservation was never cancelled either, but after several mail exchanges where he came with offers of reduced rates, I decided to cancel because they would not honour the booked rate.
I'm afraid Starwood will do the same thing here; take no responsibility and leave it to the GM of the hotel. Most franchised hotels have little interest in losing money in the high season.
