My g/f and I are flying home for the holidays in a few weeks out of Colorado Springs. The daily rate in the long term parking lot is $6, with no weekly discount it seems. So that adds up for a two week trip. Does anyone have any suggestions for substantially reduced (free?) parking?

The best I can come up with right now is to park in the Tejon Park and Ride and take a combination of buses to within 2 miles of the airport, and then walk. Expected cost: $1.25 for the bus ticket. Savings: > $70. This really isn't an impossible option, since I can drop her + bags at the airport, and then go park.

Now for my rant: Why doesn't the extensive Colorado Springs bus system connect to the airport? Not one bus goes there! They have a FREE shuttle that connects Park and Ride to downtown, but nothing from downtown to the airport! This has got to be some sort of backroom deal to force people to park at the airport, IMO.
