I think that this is an excellent move. As I have posted here several times, this is one of the worst Hiltons in the system, and is a complete dump. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation, it's old and ratty...just a reaally bad property that should be avoided at all costs. The bad thing is that almsot all of the HH properties in ELP are bad....the ES is to be avoided at all costs! The HI is okay, but I think I'm going to have to get one more stay at the Hilton ELP when I return to my former place of residence in a couple of weeks.
According to the diamond desk, the HGI ELP will open on 12/6, but for whatever reason, one cannot make any reservations there until opening day.
No kidding on this being one of the worst Hiltons, I have been forced to stay there on five occasions due to restrictions on the corporate hotel policy. All kinds of insane incidents have occurred on these visits, although I am now starting to look at those 25 nights as dues paid to make Diamond and finally getting those upgrades.
