I find you can help them by actually responding to the standard "If there's anything I can do ..." by asking for a newspaper or an amenity kit; especially if you are in
WHY. Gives them something achievable to do for you.
Having said that, on my last longhaul in October from HKG to MEL the CSM came down to greet
mrs serfty and I and could not have been more helpful. Newspaper, J cheese plate & a glass or two of J sparkling. ^
