Wow, nothing like some people exposing their own ignorance on here and it's not hard to tell that the OP is from the USA (we're so hung up on nudity here) and a red state at that. Firstly Maxim and FHM? I'd let a 14 year old red either of those. In fact, your daughter can legally buy those in ALL 50 STATES. Could it be you're a little uptight? WOmen in bikini's isn't an evil thing. Seriously hope you're not bringing up your daughter with your own misgivings about how a human body is a terrible thing.
It's funny how many negative posts I see on here in regards to Playboy. Someone mentioned the guy, 'getting his jollies' from the magazine. That is pure ignorance. Perhaps you might want to pick up the magazine before you spout off and expose your ignorance. Nudity is in the minority in that magazine. There are plenty more articles about politics and current events than there are about sex. The magazine is akin to GQ with some nude photography spreads throughout.
Nothing in the OP's post mentions anything about the guy exposing anyone to pictures of anyone naked. The worst thing is that this person's child saw the cover that she can see in any newstand anywhere. I would have no problem reading Playboy on a flight, but I don't as I don't want some holier than thou, pious person who probably does a lot more rotten things than me behind closed doors giving me grief for no reason.
"adult men's magazines"
What, may I ask, would make you assume that all men would want to read Playboy and that Playboy's readership would be all male?
