Especially since they made statements about a collaboration with Trader Vic.
The only Trader Vic item I saw was the Mai Tai mix, It was better than the fruity corn syrup they called Mai Tai mix last year.
What happened? It used to be fun. FA's would wear festive aprons and the cabin would have little touches.
They would make you feel like you were heading off to an exotic place.
Now just blah!
Does anyone else remember when it was truly Aloha Service to our 50th state?
I had the good fortune to fly UA to OGG in F numerous times during the mid to late 80s (I was in college, and my father had lots of miles to burn). I'm pretty sure the plane was a DC-10. The service was spectacular; high quality champagne served pre-departure, excellent Mai-Tais served non-stop (just the right combination of light and dark rum), meals plated seatside, with elaborate mult-course meals. Overall a very festive atmosphere provided by FAs. I think a have a few cabin photos somewhere, I'll have to search around and see if I can find them.
