Thanks for the quick replies. Sorry for the stupid question, searched for it, but not sure what IIRC means.

So the total miles for a RT ticket don't matter unless its over 24k (which neither the SYD-BKK-AKL-SYD or YYZ-LAX-SYD-LAX-YYZ is)

So what is an MPM (maximum possible miles?) and are there any specific ways to get around them? Ie, could I fly to say Singapore, then AKL, then SYD, and even though its a longer trip, would it not trigger an MPM?

BTW, if it matters, I don't really care how many segments I fly, I just need to stop in AKL on the way back from BKK, so any kind of routing (to a reasonable extent) would work for me.
