It is only a Cat 4. I noticed that they had plenty of PS dates in '06 also. Seems to be a great points value anyways, especially at PS "prices."
I was there for a conference in early November and I was not impressed. The hotel's main business is to operate their casino and in my view the hotel business seems to get much less attention.
The hotel is very overpriced and yoy can get rates about $120 on the Aerolineas Argentina web site. It is overated at Category 4.
As a diamond, I received ZERO recognition and benefits, other than a so called upgraded room with an ocean view. There was no welcome amenity; no Conrad bear; no anything. Breakfast was included with my rate
Also, there is no Executive Lounge at the hotel.
If you happen to be nearby, then by all means try this hotel. But if you have to (a) travel to Uruguay; and then (b) travel to Punta del Este, I suggest that you forget the Conrad.
