Yes, the term "Fraud" is strong, and I didn't intend to use it lightly.
The camera is the 350D/Rebel XT, which is what I mentioned before. I do understand that the manufacturer set an MSRP, but they
set the MSRP at $999 for that kit. Read page 2 of the link sent by ND Sol. If they posted it with a value of $999 I would've just shrugged it off as another overpriced auction. They didn't.
I meant, in no way, to imply that this fraud is on the same level as major government no-bid contracts. What I was stating is that The company operating the auction, which isn't actually CO - but CO puts their name on it, has chosen to falsely state the value of the product, with the intent to extract more points for the sale. If I told you something was worth $600 you might look at it differently than if the value was $1300.
I don't mean that if you think it is a good value then you shouldn't buy it. In fact, I hope you enjoy the camera, dmunz.
But if they are falsely stating a value in order to drive purchaes then it is fraud in my book.
