The chances of a large storm happening in the first half of December are much less than happening in January or February. So keep that in mind. Nevertheless, anything is possible. If you want to keep track of potential storms which might hit Boston, you should go online to various weather report sites like intellicast, weather.com and accuweather.com. Look at the radar and how the storm has been moving both in direction and speed. Many of the nor'easters come from the south so if DC is getting pounded by snow and it seems to be heading to New York, if the direction of the storm keeps to a northeast track, Boston could be next.

Check out http://www.intellicast.com/IcastPage...p&prodnav=none

It's centered in New Haven, CT but gives you a nice picture of how storms can move into Boston.
