Tijuana-PV, is there a bus?

It seems there is no cheap flight from TJ-Puerto Vallarta, so I'm wondering if long distance bus is the way to do it. How long is the trip? And is it scenic?

I've heard the only buses worth booking in Mexico are first or business class buses.

How much would a single fare cost from Tj-PV (if travelling in the day, and if the road isn't scenic, overnight)?
