There are still too many unknowns from this/other threads for me to make my mind up 100% (e.g. is the Gold advantage to the best seats gone now?

Can we pre-assign in ET or not as mentioned in that corporate brief thing?).
But really, WT is a big cabin. How many people occupy it on Y fares? Probably not a huge amount. How many Golds/Silvers occupy it? Again, not a huge proportion I
assume because of how the EC works (and if they
are in there, they're likely on full Y anyway to get the necessary TPs in the first place). All this will surely mean is there will be virtually no pre-assigned WT seats through MMB in future. Savvy Blues will OLCI at T-24 and still get good seats. Maybe not
the best, but that seems fair to me as a reward to long-suffering status pax in Y! Everyone else not 'in the know' will get what's left...tough, who cares?
Similar story for W I guess - except as all fares earn TPs I imagine there are more status pax in there and it's a smaller cabin too...BUT this is probably offset somewhat by all of it being available to pre-assign now. OK, the chances of a Blue getting the single seat in a 70J or a bulkhead are lower (but again that seems fair to me)...but the chances of a savvy Blue getting one of the middle seats is still slim. The people who 'lose' out in general are the ones not 'in the know' (and thus don't even know they're 'losing out'!). Well cry me a river.
In F, it's a small cabin and since the last set of changes everything has been open to pre-assign to anyone anyway except Row 1. So, little change there by the sound of it, except I really hope Row 1 remains a Gold/Premier benefit
But what seems most interesting to me is Club. A premium cabin, marketed as such, with premium prices. BA's most important and profitable product. Its core business focus. It is here I see the most valid argument for Blues being stiched up/worried. Would I be happy with not being able to pre-assign a seat on even a paid I class ticket as a Blue (e.g. a 'premium leisure' purchase)? No! People who are now Silver/Gold were Blue once before getting there and presumably many achieve this through plenty of paid Club tickets...would not being able to get a seat until I have status encourage me to fly more Club tickets? No! This (as we seem to read it so far) could be very bad for BA's most important product, no? Plus I sincerely hope the Gold seats remain here too
But as I said, too many unknowns. Let's wait and see...
Though on a personal note, all being well and bar changes in the EC, it will be at least 3 years before I'm Blue again in the worst case so I'm not overly worried

Especially as by then there will almost certainly be 'even more flexibility' through a 'newly enhanced' seating policy which turns this all on its arse anyway
