A month ago I booked on-line a trip for my wife and self, YVR-LHR to do a theatre weekend. At the time I clicked on Leisure Class and read "Eligible for an upgrade with a Special System Wide or with a Stystem Upgrade Certificate." The same explanation is presented today.
When I made the 7-day advance call to request upgrades I was told that I would need SSWU's since the tickets are A-fare.
I find this extremely misleading and both the agent and a YVR concierge agreed 100% with me. Regretfully, however, they are unable to do anything about it but that I could fax Customer Solutions and express my concerns (anyone who's done that before will know that it takes a week or more to get a response

Has anyone else encountered this total misrepresentation?
