It still won't require rocket science to find a corrupt government employee or two to enable real "real ID" theft. (If someone thinks "identity theft" related to credit/credit card fraud is a big pain, wait until someone's a victim of a "real ID" theft.)
ID and boarding pass check resources should be allocated to preventing bombs on planes ... then that'll be a real security improvement. Oh wait, I'm starting to sound like a song on auto-repeat.
