I was at LHR once and when I arrived at the gate for my Varig flight to CPH, they asked me if I'd like to stay behind, since the flight was over-booked.

I asked what they were offering and was told lunch. Lunch at Heathrow!

I was too shocked to tell her exactly where she could stick the lunch and just politely declined the ludicrous offer.
