Have heard numerous stories of delays/cancellations of HA flights to/from the mainland lately. We didn't have any trouble on our annual trip to PHX for thanksgiving, but overheard others in PHX terminal that the flight PHX-HNL yesterday was delayed 14 hrs, HA website confirms this. Not the first story along these lines that I've heard lately. Reminds me of the HA DC-10 days. Have heard that they are short of aircraft, heard that they have been expecting more planes for 6 months. This is all hearsay of course. Have they added more flights recently other than San Jose? Flights besides LAX and LAS are still 1x daily, right? Just wondering if anyone has the skinny on what's going down.. Maybe multiple aircraft are due for major overhaul at the same time and this is causing difficulties?

Not trying to stir the pot, HA is my airline of choice, just very curious as to what's going on.
