I have a confirmed booking for two from Washington Dulles to Capetown. I did not request seats, but was given rows 54 H and J and 55 H and J.

I called Lufthansa to see whether I could be seated as close to the front of the plane as possible, and the agent told me that I would be making a great mistake, as there's more leg room in these seats.

I also can't pre-book emergency exit rows.

What seats should I request?
