comparing the two programs to me seems like "apples to apples". Sometimes the apple you bite into is a bit squishy. Most times, either one is perfectly fine.

I've received upgrades throughout the Marriott chain, but the funny thing is that the biggest room upgrades have always occurred when i'm travelling alone on business and staying for a single night... go figure.
