The OP should learn the fine art of "padding" a business trip. I have friends and colleagues who will fly out on Tuesday to Tokyo from the US East Coast, arrive on Wednesday afternoon, have meetings and work all day Thursday, and fly back on Friday to be "home" by the weekend. That, to me, is beyond insane, it is stupid. Staying over the weekend, taking in a bit of sightseeing or a couple of good dinners is much better. Besides, seriously, who really knows where you are at any given point?
Right now, I'm in HKG, my team in TPE thinks I'm in Tokyo, and my boss, who lives in HKG, thinks I'm in TPE. They don't know where I am because they don't think to ask, because it doesn't matter. If they need to reach me they can send me an e-mail or call me, I'll answer it wherever I am.
