Hmmm...when I worked at United (ordcs, left in 2000) we gave 1k's anything they wanted, the only rule being "do whatever you have to do to keep the 1k's happy." That being said, my understanding is that there has been a huge clamp down on compensation and that is isn't really at the discretion of CS anymore. I'll see some of my old friends at ORD next week and try to get clarification of the policy to post.
