I sort of understand the rule change, the value of a lounge is diminished when there's so gosh darn many people there that you can't get a seat, going for a drink or snack requires a long wait, etc...
when the lounge access is not reasonable, they should find a way to give lounge like perks to the Diamond member, e.g. free drink and snack chits for the bar or restaurant, minibar voucher, whatever.
Hilton seems to be reducing the value of Diamond, compared to years gone by. Are the other chains doing the same with their top-tier customers?
