I'm new here and this is my first post.

I signed up for M&M in Jan '03 using a German mailing address and have about 41 K miles that will be accrued by year's en--if I make no additional travel plans.

I definitely want to make FTL status this year, and I have a few Q's.

I understand that less than 50K are needed for FTL status if you have a non-European address. Although I current live in Germany, I am an American and can easily use a U.S. mailing address. If I change the address during this calendar year, would I benefit from a lower mileage qualification for FTL this year?

Since most of my flights have been transatlantic flights on LH or UA, what is the best way to earn about 10K status miles with interEuropean travel? I have read about the Airrail mileage runs from Stuttgart to FRA, but my home base is MUC.

I also understand (after searching this forum) that FTL status must be obtained w/in a calendar year, as opposed to any given 12 months. Please let me know if I am mistaken.
