The true character of an airline and its employees is not determined by their response to normal events but how they handle unusual events -for example, when a Explat forgets his card at home. Why deny a valuable customer service that they would otherwise be entitled to? Its just indefensible.

Those dragons are nice when there is no reason not to be and often vicious when grace and understanding would helpful. Perhaps BA teaches its employees to act badly when things go wrong. It would at least explain some of the situations that I've seen.
