I completely agree.
I had a problem the other day at the Senator lounge in Frankfurt. Sat down at the work desk and opened my computer expecting that the WLAN would still be offered for free, as it was back in September... not. OK, I go and check the fare and find them very expensive but what's the option? So I take out my credit card and proceed to the registration process.
I have input all my details and credit card number, received the PIN number on my mobile phone, input the PIN number, click, then? An error message appears telling me that something went wrong. And that was it. No way to retry to retype the PIN.
I hope you can imagine my disappointment, especially as I had chosen the 2-hour 12.95 euros (if my memory serves well) connection.
So I called Vodafone Hotline from my mobile phone (I hope that call was free of charge from a mobile!). As it was all in German I had to guess the number to press and talked to a first customer service person who, after I explained the whole thing, told me that he didn't speak english very well so he put me on wait until another lady came and I had to explain it all over again!
That lady was quite nice but she had to go back and forth between the "tech" people and myself and after half an hour on the phone, we concluded there was no way to solve the situation. She said that they had just implemented this online billing process so there were a few glitches. The only thing I could do was to ask her to make sure that the amount would not be invoiced to my credit card.
JAL offers free WLAN connection in their lounge at NRT. Why can't LH do the same?
