All UA personnel who provide subpar service need to be trained that there are only two permissible responses in customer service: "Yes, Sir," and "Thank you, Sir." These can be used in over 90% of cases. If you are not saying these lines 90% of the time, try again.
We should be politically correct and say "Thank you Sir/Ma'am." I agree though, I wish UA employees would be willing to accept that some flyers are well aware of the rules and in return be willing to accept that they are occasionally wrong.
