If the candies are gel-type, TSA will enjoy them

Hard candies are fine. I've personally carried small See's chocolates boxes (gifts for f/a's and g/a's) through with no issues. No experience with anything else. My wife had a small sealed jar of jam (4oz) taken from her at HPN recently.
