I don't know if ST would want a merged UA/CO. the NRT through routes compete heavily with NW, and the LHR rights would compete with BMI and AF/KL. And UA is a lynchpin of *A in north america- let's face it, even the combined US is a bit player when it comes to UA/LH/SQ.
