My personal feeling is that rates have shot up, services dropped and I personally wouldn't pay for anything extra. I already feel like I'm being gouged with $15 internet.

How about doing something for free that would cost the chain little or nothing and go a long way towards making the customer feel special. Unfortunately, I have nothing useful to add
