Funny, I haven't noticed any of the bugs you mentioned at all on my Cingular BlackJack!
I've got phone version i607UCFJE -- is that different than yours?
Mine has run smoothly with no problems since I bought it. Haven't made up my mind whether I'm going to keep this or go for a Blackberry but so far I'm very pleased with the BlackJack. ^
