Wow. I agree that the notion of having a much NICER lineup of Amenities available for purchase (perhaps) at Sheratons is a good idea, I do not think that you'll find too many folks out there drooling at the chance to pay $30 for Sheraton to pick out the assortment and brands. I don't think that would ever get off the ground (with the possible exceptions of a few high profile locations in global capitals, but even then....).
Just my $00.02. I don't mind paying $30 for a solid lineup of amenities, but for that amount of money for little teeny sizes, you'd better believe I'd insist on choosing the items myself.

Over the years, I have seen some Sheratons offer unlimited domestic long distance for a fixed price (sometimes combined with unlimited phone and internet access for a fixed price). That offer has less appeal these days with virtually everyone owning their own cell phone.
ONE IDEA that I think could have merit might be the evening rental of certain simple, electronic back and shoulder massage tools (like the ones Brookstone sells). After a horrific day of flying or driving, there are many nights when I'd have gladly paid a reasonable amount to rent such a massage tool so I could get a better night's sleep. Seems to me the massage pads (not the cheap ones!) that can be used either on a chair back -- or laying down on a flat surface would be ideal and work well in hotel rooms. Even the highest quality ones retail in the $130 range -- what might they rent for by the evening? $7.95?!?
