Strange "security" rules regarding Weight of Bags

So this was new for me and seemed really silly......
Boarding at VIE for the US having negotiated the plethora of "advisors" tellign me I coudl bring liquids in teh clear baggy I was stopped and asked to weigh my case. Over by 2Kg - that's as security risk, you must check it I was told.

The ensuing argument was polite but I continued to state this was the first time ever for my Roller Board to have to be checked (except when there has been no room which does happen rarely)

I was asked if there was anything I could remove....huh, how would this help? All I had was clothes and a pair of shoes. I removed the foldall for my shirts and suit and we re-weighed.... it reached the magic number (7kg I think). That was fine, so I walked off holding my foldall and wheelign my bag to security......? THe foldall was returned to the suitcase and life proceeded as normal.....?

Works for me but as John McEnroe would say - You cannot be serious!
