That would of course, be good news indeed, but it may not happen very soon.
For the time being, Cathay's position on Dragonair seems currently laid out by "Though Dragonair has become part of the Cathay Pacific Group, it will retain its separate brand, market positioning and identity. The two airlines are continuing to operate their full normal schedules and the development will have no impact on passengers at this stage."

We can
hope for greater AA codesharing possibilities utilising Dragonair and perhaps Air China (they do have agreements with Lufthansa and Northwest currently) and maybe even oneworld admission for Dragonair.
