If you're in LA, I'd recommend an asian travel agency. I'm not sure if it still works, but it seemed that you used to be able to secure lower fares through many of these agencies than directly through the airline.

I just got back after doing an LAX-NRT, KIX-HKG-NRT-LAX run and it was great. However, being 6'2", the seat pitch was rough - not that it would have been better anywhere else. I did find the footrests somewhat annoying - even in their "up" position, they would still rub against my shins. In their "down" position, it was a joke - unless I wanted to balance my meal on my knees! :-)
