..and just think about the benefits in NYC without Central Park , London without Hyde Park (more offices, hotels and housing) or the Thames (you can detour the river to make more room in Greater London), Sydney without the Harbour (you wont need the Manly ferries), Venice without the Canals etc. And why not build high rise buildings in central Paris or Rome, just think of the benefits ........
