AA's OW awards are based just on distance between origin city and destination city, as long as the connection cities don't get classified as stopovers. So a BOM-SYD-HKG-DEL could be done based on the distance between BOM and DEL as long as the connections in SYD and HKG don't get classified as stopovers (which is possible if award inventory exists on the first scheduled flight after arrival in the "connection" city).
